Always in April
Visual identity and vinyl packaging for a music project by Seattle-based artist TPB.

problem
The artist needed to visually communicate complex sonic themes of isolation, introspection, and the specific atmospheric mood of the Pacific Northwest. The goal was to evoke a sense of a solitary journey without relying on generic commercial music tropes.
solution
I anchored the project with original, desaturated location photography of a solitary figure, extending the horizon line across the front and back vinyl covers to create a panoramic spread. I paired this immersive imagery with elegant, italicized serif typography to create a polished, melancholic visual narrative that grounds the listener in the environment before the record is even played.

I executed the complete creative direction for the album's packaging, handling both the photography and the graphic design. I scouted and shot the original location photography to capture the specific atmospheric mood required by the artist. I then handled the typography and layout for the vinyl jacket, ensuring the panoramic imagery wrapped seamlessly from the front to the back cover to create a continuous visual experience.
